Retrofits: Superstar
This is a character I recently renamed Superstar. When I first conceived the character fifteen years ago she was called Diva, but the modern definition of "diva" seems to have a more negative connotation than the seventies' disco diva. I didn't want to give the impression that this character was a a prima donna or that she had some overblown sense of entitlement. Also I wanted to incorporate some of the patriotism that was felt during America's bicentennial and the name Superstar seemed to fit nicely with her costume design.
